... that wasn't my most creative subject line, but please bear with me as I attempt to come up with some kind of regularity in my drawing habits |D;;

All I can say is, really, I'm glad to be holding my pencils (colored and otherwise) again. While I was already driven, come new year, to get back to drawing again, it was a conversation with my cousin that added fuel to the fire. I know that some of my online friends have expressed this in their own ways, but yes, there are indeed others who appreciate what I do.

A part of me regrets deleting my deviantArt account, but I'm now charging it to my goal of letting go of things both bad and good. While the former is pretty much a given, the latter is needed to be able to make space for bigger and better things. I looked at my dA account as something that I wanted "back", but we all know that you can't bring back the past. So like the Elrics who burned their house down, I swallow my pride and my hangups and just do what makes me happy: drawing fanart and silly things \:D/ !

I just can't say how much drawing makes me feel so good and accomplished (which is saying more than usual as I'm fighting bronchitis this week :x ), and I'm happy to find that thing about drawing where I don't care what others think of my work. So what if I like drawing people posing? So what if I don't have backgrounds? So what if their clothes (if any!) aren't fancy? They're my drawings, and I love what I do.

Anyhow, much as I'd love to live for the night, my body needs rest if I'm to get rid of this sick X3;; See you all next time!
 

I told myself that I will not let the first day of the year go by without drawing something shush, it's still January 1 somewhere!

And so before I crash, I doodled the first character that came to mind and I immediately thought of hotass grandpas...


I haven't drawn in so long that I can just feel myself getting rusty! X(

I'm not really going through my sketchpad strictly in order, but since I'm way past their due dates, I might as well attempt to group them in a coherent fashion.

Below are sketches of Capricorn El Cid and an AU version of Kiki. Some of Kiki's sketches were done upon request -- I'll explain as I go along~

I admit, I am quite enamored with how I envision this Kiki, even if he did end up showing his sheepiebutt in Omega X3♥ Oh well. More sheepiebutt in the next entry! /o/

I have not indulged in the chance to practice on shading and highlights, mainly because I'm a bit of a coward and just wanted to stick to the basics. But not anymore!

Today, as I found myself stumped on what to put in the ~white~ background, I thought that I would try to use it to my advantage...



( I know you have sacrificed time, life, love, time to fly. )

Even if there weren't any official announcement for a Sketchavember this year, I still called on the thought to spur myself forward in practicing free-hand drawing with the tablet. I only had so much time to sketch after work, what with gym at the start of my day, and just no time to do anything else at work (I use my break for tags and foods).

I became a little frustrated as I wasn't able to produce an ideal "a sketch a day" rhythm, but what I did instead, is that I cobbled pieces together over a span of several days. Granted, they're not as complete as my traditional works would have, but again, it's me still trying to become at home with the tablet and getting my rusty hinges working again.

Out of this whole experience, I will still carry on practicing with the tablet and I hope to develop a style that is presentable and of course, one that I'll be happy with.

I should also consider buying a new scanner. >.>;;
 

Back in September, Marina Asylum had a Prom event and a great number of players went around and dressed their characters X3~ Not to be left behind, I dressed my girls Sasha and Kohran as to what they will be wearing for the occasion.

It had been a long -- too long -- of a time since I drew anything, and so I took the chance to dream up some dresses and put them to paper. :3

Here's another of the Trooper boys and we're looking at Touma Hashiba ~

So far, I've only gotten caps from OVA1 - Gaiden and of course, cropped icons out of print media. :3 It's in making these icons that I kind of see that Touma is the youngest of the Troopers. I'm just so tempted to flick that long lone clump of hair going across his face. X3;;

Why yes, these are icons from Gluhen, why do you ask~? |3 While I have used these for roleplay purposes, I think the Gluhen characters designs can be a nice source of point-and-laughter sessions.

And so we have dear Siberian in civvies (80 icons), in his ridiculous Weiss outfit (37 icons), and 24 other icons from various official print media. I also threw in some art from Kapitel and a couple from SideB.
